The Tuesday night before Thanksgiving we decided to head up to Bristol to see the Motor Speedway's Christmas display. On the way Eric took us to a BBQ restaurant. It was built in the 1940's and has been the same ever since. You get massive amounts of food. My favorite part was the fries but that is true almost where ever we go.
I am a "sucker" for these face cut out boards. I am so lucky that I have a husband who is a dork with me. In the center of the track there was a Santa's Village all set up. You could ride rides, drink hot chocolate, roast marshmallows and see Santa. To get into the village you had to drive on the track. That was really cool. There was music playing and there were lights in the stand that were synchronized to the music. It was really cool. This was all after driving through a 2 mile light display that puts Jolly Holiday Lights to shame if you are from the Des Moines area.
