This last weekend was filled with lots of crazy. First my cousin Sara came down with H1N1 so we didn't see her at all or go to my aunt and uncle's house. Second Isaac and Leah, my niece and nephew both came down with colds. Evelyn, my cousin Erik's daughter, who was being blessed had a bad reaction to something and had a rash all over her face.
On Saturday we all gathered at the church for Grandpa Skip's baptism. He is my mom's step dad and moved to Iowa about a year ago. After investigating the church he decided to get baptised and asked my brother Travis to perform the baptism. He also asked my sister Jenn to sing-okay Jenn you have to sing more it was fantastic. I was asked to give a talk on the Holy Ghost and really enjoyed the chance to rethink about the Gift of the Holy Ghost and what it means. The Spirit was so strong there as we celebrated with Grandpa Skip and his decision to be baptized.
After the baptism we all went out to eat at Bennigan's. The food-not so good. The company-very funny. Leah was getting fussy and Eric was holding her for awhile and she fell asleep all snuggled up next to him. It was so cute.
On Sunday Isaac was much sicker and not a happy boy at all. Leah was also sick but still as happy as could be. Eric was great helping Jenn while Jake tried to get homework done. Watching Eric with kids makes me all the more excited for when we have our own children.
At church on Sunday Travis confirmed Grandpa Skip. It was so great to see Travis all grown up and doing so well. It is hard to believe that not that long ago he wasn't attending church. Just more proof to never give up. After that my Dad blessed Evelyn,my cousin Erik's daughter, since Uncle Art had to take Sara to the doctor.
It was a crazy weekend filled with lots of highs and lows but snotty noses but I am glad we were able to be apart of such a special day for Grandpa Skip and Evelyn.
