All Aboard!! Choo Choo

Ok so on to the train ride. We were supposed to leave the train station at 8 o'clock PM but we didn't leave until 8:30. From there we only had set back after set back. The very next stop we had to wait for an hour for a new engineer. Because of the blizzard we were stopped in Lincoln, NE all night after burning out an engine. In the first 12 hours we had only gone 200 miles. After that we had to push through snow drifts that were 8-12 feet high with a few at least 20 feet high. They were over the top of the train and you can see that the train was pretty tall since Eric is 6'3". Later we had an engine catch on fire so we had another delay. The final big delay was someone was caught smoking pot on the train so we had to wait for the authorities to come and take of the person. We were supposed to arrive at 11 o'clock PM on the 26th but didn't get in until 5 o'clock on the 27th.

The only thing that made the trip bearable and even helped make it fun was that we had gotten a sleeper car. We had the smallest one that they had but it worked for us. During the day we had two benches that faced each other with a small table. At night we had to berths that came down so we could sleep peacefully. All the meals were included and that made the price much more reasonable. I enjoyed the trip out but hope the trip home is more on schedule.
